Thongs not allowed on beaches

I heard that at some US beaches thongs are not allowed ?

Can some one tell me which beaches have this restriction?

Maybe everybody can post here and tell were they are allowed and where not. Most interesting would be the Florida-area.

I have been roaming the beaches here in So Cal for 30 years...and if there is a ban, I have never ever seen it imposed here. I can see at Private pools maybe, maybe private beach clubs, but to outright ban thongs? Well, I have never seen it.

If someone is interesed, I got informations that thongs are not allowed in BREVARD and PINELLAS County in Florida.
Also the city of Daytona Beach set limits about the minimum size of a bikini. I wonder how this is enforced
