Not my best video, but I used the MP3 player technique with my T9 for it. I used an iPod case with a small hole cut in it for the lens and slid the mini-jack from my headphones in the end of the case. It works pretty well but I was on the treadmill for some of the vid which resulted in shaky camera work. I have 4 different disguises for my T9 depending on the situation but the MP3 idea is pretty versatile.

Is it possible to turn off the LCD-screen with the T9/T100 when taking candids?

I don't think it's possible. I tried it with the T20, and because there's no viewfinder on the T100 and T20, the best you can do is to dim the LCD to the minimum.

The T20/T100 is a good candid camera, but the quality of the image is not up to par even with the older cybershot U20, U40 and U50 series. I was pretty disappointed.

Despite the lack in quality images, the ability to shoot 380 (for the T20) shots with 1 battery is pretty handy, and being able to do burst shots is certain good.

I will still stick to the Cybershot-U camera until it really dies on me.

Just to add on, I find the image stabilization on the T-series not that useful. It's more about having good sunlight, and how the light falls on the subject, and the stability which is most important.

Well worthy of some page in The Candid Bible, but I'd clarify one thing..

The only candid use for Image Stabilizer would be - shooting still targets indoors at slow shutter speeds (though I've never tried it). It does not correct motion blur, but only blur caused by slight camera shake.

The shutter speeds required to capture action (and allowed by outdoor light)negate the need for Image Stabilizer as well.

Nice post yourfnmom (and name). You are right bout too many crappy shots get posted. 90% of the shots I get in a day are crap or average. Just post the top ones. More will come.Image stabilization and protruding lense. I.S. only works well with very very slow moving targets and usually just makes a lower shutter speed. I have shot with cameras that are all internal and I kept getting my fingers and hands in the way of the damn shot. I think its best to have a cam that protrudes just a little but I think I got a different shooting style then you anyway

One thing you got to have is a camera with a kicks ass burst mode. Just saw a review of a new cam that can pop out 15 shots a second - DAMN.
