Here are some basic guidelines when making a comment of a Photograph or video.
A comment is a written or verbal evaluation of a photograph or video based on careful observation. It does not do to just say "thanks dood". The comment must mention what you like and why you like it. Here are some guidelines on what you should look for in a thread comment:
WE NEED AN OPINION ON THE PHOTO - What do you like about the subject? Is there a story, or thought you got when looking at the images? Is there anything about the photograph that you would do differently if you were the photographer and had the chance to do the same shot? Do you have any advice on post production for example cropping or using a filter to make the original look better.
When evaluating photos or video:
COMPOSITION CONTENT - What is the Center of Interest in the photograph or video ? Where does your eye come to rest in viewing the photo or video ? Did the photographer get close enough to the subject to include only what is important? In other words, are there wasted parts of the frame that contain items not adding to the subject of the photo?
BACKGROUND - How did the photographer use focus or depth of field to deal with the background? Is the background good, or distracting ? How does the background add or distract from the the photo?
CAMERA WORK - Is the subject sharp and clearly in focus? Is the photo exposed properly, can we at least see the subject?
POST PRODUCTION - Is it picture nicely displayed or just slapped up? Does the photograph look like care was made in making it look better in post production with cropping using sharpening filters or other tools, or is there evidence that the person just rushed to upload it? Is the video edited well ? Is there Background sound ?
