How many hours a day do you spend at the TCB?

I usually come on twice a day, morning and evening for about 30-45 minutes a session. Is that an obsession?

thats not bad try spending 5-6 hours
thats a problem thats a candidholic
of course some of that time is preparing the pics

the longest I have spent on here at a time in one session probably 8 hours... normally when my wife is out of town at her grandmothers ... a lot more than when she is here. I don't call it ab obsession I call it an interesting hobby shared among like minded friends It is more, as I have come to find, a fun way to learn to take better photos .. it gives you the incentive to use that gadget you went out and spent your hard earned money for, rather than to let it sit on the shelf until next vacation. The more photos you take the better you become ... if we only used the cameras for snapshots every now and then thats the best quality we could take.
With this forum we can shoot make mistakes ... get feedback ... and whether we like what we hear about our stuff or not ... we do try to do better. The subject matter of our photography varies to all different tastes for the "lurkers" who drool over our learning progress. Sure we get kudos and complaints about our subject matter ... but we most of the time have to take what we can get ..... its not as though we can go an hire someone to pose candidly for us. Before I started shooting and posting here I was very nervous about raising a camera and pointing at anyone... now it has built sort of a self-confidence in me ...

An Obsession nah ... a learning process yes is it fun yes .... does it take time yes.... do you have the time it takes to spend ? that is up to you and what all you have going in your life. There are days that just plain don't want to go out and take pics ... then there are days that it seems to be calling my name.

Back to the original question .... I spend as much time as feel like it ... when the board is active and people are posting I spend a little extra .... if it is dead and not much going on I find something else to do.

I think i prob spend more than an hour.. but i'm always doing something else in between time loading pics etc

But this is a place I prob can say I visit on a DAILY basis

all depends if the other half is of work or not. if shes working and im not candid shooting quite a bit checking comments and pics.

also tend to look more when i have posted pics, to check out the comments.

I'd say an hour per day. I really like your comments GenericCandid. It really is a learning process. I'm getting more confident and a little better technique. But I still get a lot of shots of the sky when I shoot from the hip. Today I "almost" got quite a few which was pretty frustrating. One thing that has helped has been me professing myself as having photography as a hobby. That way my friends are starting to think it is normal for me to have my camera out. And I take lots of pics of a lot of different subjects. This is also building my confidence as I am thinking of myself as a hobby photographer. The more my confidence builds the more I am willing to go out shooting.

I have also learned where to go and where not to go. I don't bring my camera to the mall that much anymore. Too risky and I feel too nervous. But I do bring it to the zoo or the beach area.

I enjoy coming to this site mainly to chat with other candid photographers. Especially those of you who post regularly and consider this an art form (as well as a slight perversion

I sometimes get annoyed with the comments/posts of some people, but I try to just let it go.

Overall a much enjoyed site.

This is a great and very interesting thread .... thanks for making it !

I used to spend at least 12 + hours a day ! With the support of the Elite Members I was able to hire some employees and I am now able to get agian to shoot !

I am still at least 1 -2 hours a day ... 7 days a week !
