I'm under the impression that phone cams have largely become obsolete?
They would be perfect for hip shots, most phone cases have a belt clip and can be worked one handed. I'm aware of some of the limitations of these things, images are generally small and I suppose due to the size of the lens, you will lose a lot of incoming light resulting in dark or blurry / grainy shots.
Unfortunately, the time of year for good outside work is winding down. At least I can work on inside stuff - after a bit of practice. If I get anything good, I might be inclined to get a big boy cam. As far as camera specs are concerned, more megapixels=better and the worky bits sould be internalized for stealth shooting? I'm wondering if a shutter motor whirring out to zoom would be noticeable.

a sony t series is a good camera to start with..cos of its fixd lens
