A VERY SUCCESSFUL POOL TECHNIQUE (also see diagram pictures at bottom of this post):
1) setup your poolchair about 10ft away from your subject and face your poolchair DIRECTLY AWAY from her. The facing away part is VERY IMPORTANT because your subject wont feel any suspicion of you looking at them....since your poolchair is facing completely away from them.
2) once you feel comfortable then pull out your camera wrapped inside a beachtowel and set it all up by your head....using the beachtowel as sort of a "pillow".... you will just have to PRACTICE this while keeping the camera ALWAYS underneath the beachtowel.
3) lay on your side and with your hand underneath the beachtowel to hold the camera...... rest the camera so its shooting STRAIGHT-BACK at your subject...... rest the camera lens against the slats of the poolchair so it DOES NOT poke out the otherside...its just rests up against the slats.
4) you will have to see your LCD on your camera underneath the beachtowel and move the camera around slightly until your subject can be viewed on the camera LCD. Zoom-in or pan-out to get your subject in fullscreen and start snapping away.
ITS ABSOLUTELY FUCKIN' AMAZING ON HOW !LITTLE! OF A SPACE IN BETWEEN THE SLATS YOU NEED TO GET A FULLSIZE PIC OF YOUR SUBJECT LAYING OUT.
Below are pictures using this technique. Some have accused me that this is my girlfriend since there are many empty poolchairs. I swear to you these are absolutely TRUE candid pics using this technique. These pics were shot on the last nice pool day in 2nd week of September. Most girls had quit going to the pool since it was September and I happened to stumble across this girl taking in the last nice day of Summer.
